Empowering Falaba: Women Entrepreneurs Gain New Business Skills

Falaba, Sierra Leone – On March 18, 2025, the Sierra Leone Credit Union hosted a one-day training session in Mongo Bendugu Falaba District to boost the entrepreneurial capabilities of local women. Targeted at Sowies, market traders, and young businesswomen, the workshop focused on key aspects of running a successful business, including financial management, marketing, and customer service.

Facilitator Mr. Baima Alc Buciamas led the interactive session, emphasizing practical, hands-on exercises and collaborative discussions. "We believe in the potential of women as key drivers of economic growth," said Madam Sarah Koroma, representative of the Mongo branch. The positive feedback from participants highlighted the training’s impact, as many expressed excitement to apply the skills learned to enhance their ventures.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort by the Sierra Leone Credit Union to promote economic independence among women—a commitment that promises further training sessions in the future.
